Description
The Miniature Pinscher, also know as Min Pin, is a small, compact dog that is muscular with square proportions. This breed has an easy care coat.


Size
Adult male Miniature Pinschers are 10-12 inches tall and weigh 8-10 pounds. Adult female Miniature Pinschers are 10-11 inches tall and weigh 8-9 pounds.


Coat
The Miniature Pinscher has a short, smooth, straight coat that is also hard and lays close to the body.


Color
The standard colors of the Miniature Pinscher are black & rust, black & tan, chocolate & rust, chocolate & tan, red, and stag red.


Temperament
The Miniature Pinscher is a proud dog that is courageous, loyal, and alert. This breed is also intelligent, lively, and brave. They can be aggressive to dogs but works well with other pets.


Care
Grooming is easy with this breed. The Miniature Pinscher's short, smooth coat should be brushed and combed with a firm bristle brush to remove excesses hair. Dry shampoo and bathe only when necessary.


Exercise
This breed needs to get its exercise. Take a Miniature Pinscher on a daily brisk walk. Playtime in a large fenced in area is also advised for their exercise needs.


Training
The Miniature Pinscher is intelligent and likes to show you. They can learn quickly and understands without much work. Socialize the Miniature Pinscher early with other dogs and people.


Shedding
The Miniature Pinscher is an average shedding dog breed.


Barking & Howling
This breed likes to bark and will bark at strangers.


Life Expectancy
A well cared for Miniature Pinscher can live up to 15 years.


Health
In general, the Miniature Pinscher is a health breed, but still have their know issues including heart defects, eye problems, hypothyroidism, and epilepsy.
